Rita Rae Hale Obituary
Rita Rae Hale 75, of Riverside, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 30, 2017 following an extended illness.
Rita Rae was born July 27, 1942 to Thomas Horton Williams and Rita Myrle Davies. She attended Rockford Elementary and graduated from Snake River High School.
On October 12, 1962, she married David Jay Hale in Thomas, Idaho. The following year their married was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on November 8, 1963. They spent most of their married life in Blackfoot, Idaho. However,  in 1966 they moved to Illinois where they resided for 10 years. While there, Rita Rae helped set up the first Jr. Primary in the small LDS branch they attended. They returned home to Blackfoot, Idaho in 1976 where together they raised their six children.
Rita Rae, was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the primary, twice as the ward librarian and a ward missionary. She belonged to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and served as a captain of the Riverside Camp. She also served effectively in the P.T.A. for a number of years.
After her children were grown she continued her education, and keeping with her giving nature she obtained her Home Health Care Nursing certificate, where she was able to serve people in her community for many years.
She loved crafting keepsakes by hand. Whether it was crocheting or needle work and even won a blue ribbon at the Idaho State Fair.
Rita Rae is survived by her husband David, her children Sheila Park of Blackfoot ID, Blaine Hale of Idaho Falls, ID, Lisa (Dave) Walters of McKinney, TX, Kristine McKay of Spanish Fork, UT, Jason Hale of Idaho Falls, ID, and Russell (Mindy) Hale of Burley, ID, and sisters Carol (Dave) Doxey of Ogden, UT, Charlotte Pounds of Blackfoot, ID, Mary (Doug) Wray of Rexburg, ID, and Marty (Eddie) Ellis of Blackfoot, ID and fourteen grandchildren with one great grandchild on the way.
She was proceeded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday January 4, 2017 at the Riverside 1st Ward, 7 North 700 West Blackfoot, Idaho. Family will meet with friends and relatives on Wednesday January 3, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home and again for one hour prior to the service and the church. Interment will follow in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
