Robert Brigham Young Obituary
Robert Brigham Young, 78, of Shelley, Idaho formerly of Blackfoot, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his home.
Robert was born July 24, 1939 in Price, Utah to Riley Lee Young and Roena Inez Johnson. He graduated from Crest High School in Murray, Utah. Following graduation he attended tech school in Salt Lake City.
On December 11, 1959 he married his sweetheart Nancy Callister. Their marriage was later sealed for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1964. Together they raised their four children, Robert, Nannette, Lisa and Danielle.
Robert was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in a number of callings including, scout master, home teacher and assistant ward clerk.
He was a hard working business man. He owned and operated Automotive Profit Systems in Shelley, Idaho. He also loved moving sand with his tractor, was a licensed plumber, a car salesman and a true jack of all trades.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, remodeling homes, restoring classic cars and caring for horses.
He is survived by his loving eternal companion, Nancy Young, his children, Robert Brigham (Tera) Young Jr. of Blackfoot, Idaho, Nannette (Korey) Lowder, of Kaysville, Utah, Lisa LaDawn (Richard Jr.) Bono, of Shelley, Idaho, and Danielle Young Johns, of Meridian, Idaho, his three sisters, Shellia, LaDaun and Nancy, a sister-in-law, Iva Lou Young, a brother-in-law, Dale Kehl, 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Roena Young, two brothers and four sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Wapello LDS Chapel.
The family will meet with friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery.
