Robert Dean Martinsen Obituary
Robert Dean Martinsen, 88, was born June 18, 1927 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Frank Henry Martinsen and Geneva Alverda Smith Martinsen.
Robert grew up on the farm in Grant, Idaho where he attended school. He met Myra Call at Midway High, who later became his wife. He served in the Army in Korea during WWII. Robert and Myra were married in Grant, Idaho, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1955.
Always a farmer at heart, Robert and Myra farmed, in Grant, homesteaded in Rupert, then onto American Falls, Atomic City, and Moreland, Idaho. After his farming days, he worked construction until retirement. After retiring, he enjoyed hauling bees between California and North Dakota.
Bob was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in various positions.
He was an avid fisherman and always had a good story to tell. He loved to garden and had magnificent gardens in which his family and neighbors benefited. He also had a happy gladiola garden and many other beautiful flowers. He loved pine trees and planted many at their last home.
Robert passed away May 6, 2016 in West Haven, Utah. He was welcomed home by his wife, Myra, his father, Frank, mother, Geneva, and step-mother, Viola. Also there to greet him were his brothers, Reid, Dale, Gary, and sister Beverly.  Surviving him are his son, Kevin (Teresa) Martinsen, Blackfoot, Idaho; daughters Janae (Gary) Hudman, Roy, Utah; and Denise (Darcie) Martinsen, North Salt Lake, Utah.
