Robert J. "Bob" Cameron Obituary
Robert J. "Bob" Cameron 88 died November 27, 2015 at his home. Several members of his family were by his side at the time of his passing. During Bob's decline his wife, daughters and Comfort Keepers lovingly cared for him. In his final days Minidoka Home Health/Hospice provided additional comfort and care to Bob and his family.
Bob was born November 16, 1927 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Clark and Alice Cameron he was their first child.
During his lifetime Bob lived in Pocatello, Salt Lake City, Boise and Twin Falls. The family moved to Rupert, Idaho in 1944.
He graduated from Rupert High School. He joined the Idaho National Guard 116th Armored Cavalry. He attended the Armored and Officers training Schools in Fort Knox, Kentucky. His military career included becoming the Commander of the Rupert Unit. Later he was promoted to the regional headquarters staff in Twin Falls. He retired after 26 years of service with the rank of Major. This unit was never called into conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years and 3 children Kathleen Cameron (Marian) Bellevue, ID, Pat Seamons (Joe) Blackfoot, ID, Roberta "Robi" Nord (Kris) Missoula, MT, 5 Grandchildren Sarah Seamons MacKinlay, Cameron and Robert Seamons, Anders and Isak Nord, his sister Margaret Suhr and brother Lynn Cameron and a large number of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter Margaret Rose, and brothers John and Kent. He will be greatly missed and loved forever.
A Viewing for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday December 4, 2015 at the Hansen Mortuary 710 6th St., Rupert and for one hour (12 noon) preceding the funeral which will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday December 5, 2015 at the United Methodist Church. 605 H St. Military rites will take place at the church. Interment will be at the Rupert Cemetery. The family suggests donations to the Renaissance Arts Center 610 Fremont St. Rupert, ID 83350, Rupert UM Church Food Bank 605 H St. or Alzheimer's Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Dr., Clarksbury, MD 20871. Services are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
