Robert John Kirkham Obituary
Robert John Kirkham, 60, of  Blackfoot, passed away of Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Bingham Memorial Hospital. He was born on Nov. 5, 1947 to Lavon Carlson and Sheldon Robert Kirkham in Payson, Utah.
Robert lived with his parents and siblings in Eureka, Utah, where he graduated from Tentic High School.
Wanting to set an example for his siblings, he later moved to Provo, Utah, to continue his education at Brigham Young University. There he received his Bachelor's and went on to obtain his Master's from the University of Idaho in Chemical Engineering.
A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he met his wife, Robyn LaRae Freeze, through mutual friends. They were married on Aug. 31, 1991 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they had two sons: Quenton and Qelvin.
Robert lived and made friends in Payson, Provo and Eureka, Utah; Grace and Blackfoot; and Fontana, Calif., where he operated a large chemical plant; and various places throughout Nevada.
He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was a pilot, and while he was a slow driver, he enjoyed flying at high speeds. He also enjoyed playing board games with his family and "never" lost a game of Risk.
He is survived by his wife; his sons; his brothers: Rodger (Lillie) Kirkham, Richard (Cheryl) Kirkham, Ronald Kirkham, Steven Kirkham and his sisters: Celina (Gary) Chandler, Christina (Mickey - deceased) Shewmake and Cassandra (Delbert) Reeves.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 19 at Hawker Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 18 at the funeral home and again for one hour prior to services. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
