Robert Lynn Underwood Obituary
Robert Lynn Underwood, 67, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Gem Assisted Living in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Robert was born August 18, 1947 in American Falls, Idaho to Hyrum Standley Underwood and Anna Mae Veach. He lived his entire life in Idaho, including Blackfoot, Mountain Home, Jerome and Victor. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1951.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Robert married Cheryl Ashley in 1968 in Blackfoot, Idaho. They were later divorced in 1972. He married Linda Perry on February 2, 1978 in Blackfoot, Idaho. They were later divorced. His life companion was Dorothy Doss.
He worked as a laborer in farming and was also a diesel mechanic. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, camping and working on cars.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Stanley (Marci) Underwood of Chubbuck, Elijah Lee (Lourdes) Underwood of North Dakota and Robert Lynn Underwood Jr of Montana; daughters, Tracey Serna of San Antonio, Texas, Christy (James) Marshall of Blackfoot, Idaho, Lisa Ann (Francisco) Aiatorre of Idaho Falls and Mabel Turpin of Mountain Home; brother, Wayne; sister, Ruth Nielson of Washington; 21 grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his son, Robert Keith Underwood; his parents, Hyrum and Anna Underwood; brothers, James, Keith and Frank; sister, Lela Mae VillasenĂ´r; and brother in law, Donald Nielson.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 and for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Grove City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue, Blackfoot, ID 83221 to help with funeral expenses.
