Sheridan L. Goodwin Obituary
Sheridan L. Goodwin, 80, of Blackfoot, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2017 at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1936 in Blackfoot to Chester Lamar Goodwin and Vanona Wright. He attended Blackfoot High School and graduated in 1955, the first graduating class in the current Blackfoot High School.
On Nov. 27, he married his lovely wife Glenna Jean Fullmer and together they raised their three boys in Blackfoot.  Glenna passed away in December of 1995. Sheridan married Jackie Edwards in November 1996 and the two later divorced.
Sheridan started farming in Tabor before becoming a crane and heavy equipment operator for Goodwin Construction. He was a hard worker and well respected as an operating engineer. He also tried very hard to be home from work on weekends to take his boys hunting and fishing, instilling a sense of family values.
Sheridan loved to be outdoors fishing, spending time on most of the local rivers, lakes and ponds. In 2005, Sheridan and his sons took a salmon-fishing trip to Alaska, and they all caught many fish, Sheridan catching the most (as usual).
In addition, he loved gardening and spending time with his spoiled rotten cats. He was a wonderful father and friend to many and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his sons, Rick (Mary) Goodwin of Meridian, Scott Goodwin of Blackfoot and Todd (Jana) Goodwin of Blackfoot, brothers Steve (Virginia) Goodwin of Thomas and Lynn (Harriett) Goodwin of Quilcene, Wash., his sister-in-law Connie (Kenneth) Taylor, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Sheridan was preceded in death by his wife Glenna, his parents Chester and Vanona and a brother Jerry.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17 at the Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot, Idaho.
The family will meet with friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. on Aug. 16 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. and for one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
