Sheryl Ybarguen Obituary
Earth has one gentle soul less, heaven one angel more.
Sheryl Ybarguen, 75, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016 at her home from a valiant fight with cancer.
Sheryl was born July 25, 1941 in Blackfoot to Owen Merrill Wood and Phelma Burniss Peterson. Other than when serving a mission and a year in Salt Lake City, she has lived her life time in the Blackfoot area. She graduated from Snake River High School and attended a year at Rick's College.
On Sept. 27, 1969 Sheryl married John Ybarguen Jr in Thomas, Idaho. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Finland. She has faithfully served in many callings in the church.
Sheryl worked at the Idaho National Labratory for many  years as an administrative assistant, and valued greatly the many relationships she developed there. While her children were young, she enjoyed selling Avon and substitute teaching at her kids' schools, allowing her to be home for her children. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, poetry and attending every event in which her grandchildren participated. She also loved to visit with people and constantly made new friends.
She is survived by her children, Michaela (Dean) Clark of Riverside, Idaho; Jeff (Candice) Ybarguen and Justin Ybarguen both of Idaho Falls; brothers, Charles "Chuck" (Mary) Wood of Ft. Mojave, Ariz. and J. Lynn (Janece) Wood of Othello, Wash.; sisters, Jean (Eli) Krommenhoek of Boise, Etta May (Dale) Eavenson of West Valle City, Utah, Beverly (Ivan) Bullock of McCammon, Idaho and Geraldine (Andy) Herrera of Sacramento, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Ybarguen; and brother, Owen Woodrow Wood.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19 and for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online atwww.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Shull, Julie and the other nurses at the Teton Cancer Institute, and also the Hands of Hope Hospice. Family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Teton Cancer Institute for the ongoing help for cancer patients. Those donations can be made C/O Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. Blackfoot, ID 83221.
