Shirley Ann Cucchiara, 79
Shirley Ann Cucchiara, 79, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2015 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family.
She was born July 23, 1936 in Blackfoot, Idaho, to George and Rachel Christensen.  Shirley was a lifetime resident of Blackfoot, where she was raised and received her education.  
In 1956 she married Max Spidell; he preceded her in death. Later, on Aug. 24, 1983 she married Sam Cucchiara at Jackpot, Nevada.  
Shirley was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
She enjoyed bowling and was a member of several leagues over the years.
Shirley worked for many years at Cathay Cafe, after its closing she went to work for Walmart where she greeted customers with her always ready smile until a decline in her health forced her to quit.
She enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, oil painting and loved her animals.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Sam Cucchiara, of Blackfoot; her daughters, Vera (Dean) Hallan, of Idaho Falls and Terry Carmichael, of Blackfoot; 6 grandchildren: Ameda, Courtney, Kamile, Michael, Anthony and Christopher, 12 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Spidell; her son, Cornell Baxter; daughter, Vickie Spidell; her parents and her brothers, Eugene Christensen, LeRoy Christensen and Carl Christensen.
A Vigil Service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, with a viewing following immediately after. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2015 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 584 W. Sexton, Blackfoot.  Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
