Stephen Mark Kinerd Obituary
Stephen Mark Kinerd, 65, of Macon, Georgia and former Blackfoot area resident passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, Georgia.

He was born June 27, 1950 at Moses Lake, Washington, to Fred and Carlene Kinerd. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1969. Following graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and served for the next 23 years, achieving the rank of Chief. He served in Connecticut, Hawaii, 3 tours in Idaho, retiring in 1992.

In 1970 Steve married Sharon Montgomery, two children were born to this union, Keri Lynn and Damon Wade. They were later divorced. On July 12, 1984, Steve married Tamera Christensen. Steve adopted Tamera's two children, Kempton Mark and Brandon Lee, together they had Nathan Alexander. Steve and Tamera were later divorced. On February 28, 2012 Steve and Judy were married.

He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church

Steve worked as a NOC Technician for Birch Communications for 9 years.

He was a member of The Blackfoot Saddleman's Club and taught Hunter's Safety Education and was a lifelong member of the NRA. He also was a dedicated member of the Bingham County Search and Rescue Team.

Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and Nascar and working on cars. To his friends he was known as a "Surly Sailor" and a "Crusty Crab".

He is survived by his wife Judy, of Macon, GA; children,Keri Murphy, of Virginia, Kempton (Holly) Kinerd of Blackfoot, Brandon (Trina) Kinerd of Henderson, NV and Nathan (Pam) Kinerd of Blackfoot; sister Kay (Roger) Berry of Oklahoma and brother Dana Kinerd of Texas. and 10 grandchildren.

Steve was preceded in death by his son, Damon Wade Kinerd and his parents Fred and Carlene Kinerd.

Funeral service will be held a 10 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the funeral home and again for one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery with full Military Honors under the direction of the Stewart Hoover Post #23. Condolences may be sent to: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
