Thomas Dale "Tommy" Thompson Obituary
Thomas Dale "Tommy" Thompson, 81 of Blackfoot, passed away April 9, 2016 in Toledo, Ohio.
Tommy was born February 25, 1935 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Thomas A Thompson and Helen Thompson. Tommy attended the University of Nevada, Reno, with a major in Music and a minor in Anthropology.
Tommy had his first radio show at 7 years old in Nampa, Idaho and was a member of the Sons of the Pioneers, The Dominos, and toured with Petula Clark. He studied with Johnny Smith and 
played with Les Paul. Leo Fender of the Fender Guitar Company personally gave him a guitar amp.
He was drafted into the Army in 1958 and played in the Army Band. He was a member of Musicians Unions in Alaska, Nevada, and California, as well as the The Appaloosa Horse Club, Idaho Thoroughbred Association, the International Colored Appaloosa Association, and a lifetime member of the National Riflemans Association. Horses and music were life­long passions for him.
The last 13 years of his life were spent driving for Doug Andrus Distributing, where he was treated like family and enjoyed his job. He and his wife Jodi made wonderful memories team driving across the country for over 20+ years. 
Tommy is survived by his wife Jodi, his two sons Chip and Todd, and 4 grandchildren: Dallas, Lindy, Kayli, and Taylor.
His family will be putting to rest his ashes in a private ceremony at Tommy's ranch at a future date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
