Thomas Paul "Tom" James Obituary
Thomas "Tom" Paul James, 50, of Logan, Utah, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016.  
Tom was the son of Thomas Vea James and Donna Darlene Smith James. He was born Oct. 5, 1966 in Escondido, California. 
He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1984 where he excelled in football and basketball. He was the Coca-Cola Athlete of the year for the state of Idaho and was offered five full ride football scholarships. He attended Utah State University and played football for the Aggies. 
He was very successful in his career as a graphic designer. He worked for a large advertising firm in Salt Lake City, Utah and was sought after for freelance work for companies all over the United States.
Tom was a very talented artist, an exceptional cook and enjoyed the outdoors. He was also an avid snowboarder, loved motorcycling, biking, mountain climbing and ultimate frisbee. In his later years, he enjoyed playing the guitar and composing music, which brought him and other great joy. 
Tom is survived by his parents, T. Vea and Donna James; brother, Dan (Debra) James; sisters, Roxann (Dave) Jackson, Cindy (Karl) Williams, and Karen (Barry) Oates. 
He was preceded in death by a niece, Jessica Jackson; grandparents, Abraham and Rose James and LeRoy and Eliza Smith; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Blackfoot 14th Ward chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 900 Riverton Road in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue, and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
