Vicki Benson Martin Obituary
Vicki Benson Martin, 72 year old Moreland resident, died at her home on Saturday July 1, 2017, following a prolong illness.
Vicki was born of November 12, 1944 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ronald Benson and Gwen Pack.
She attended Union High School in Roosevelt, Utah and following her graduation attended BYU.
On July 2, 1965, she married Wayne Martin in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised their family of five children in Moreland.
She worked as a homemaker, caring for her children and husband. Many will remember her from the Snake River Middle School where she worked in the lunch program.
Vicki was an excellent seamstress. So much so that she made each of her daughters' wedding dresses. Above all Vicki loved her family most and spending time with them in any and every capacity.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she loved serving in the primary and would faithfully give and serve in anything she was called to do. Her last called she served in was a "sister friendly" where she would take treats in during story time to the children.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Wayne, of Moreland, her children Vicki (Mike) Seamons of Moreland, Kay (Angie) Martin of Moreland, Dirk (Shaunee) Martin of Moreland, Joan (Jeremy) Neibaur of Idaho Falls, and Jackie (Will) Riggs of Boise, her brother Steve (Elizabeth) of St. George, UT, her sisters, Susan Smith of St. George, UT and Rhonda (Dave) Winstead of Pullmon, WA, a sister-in-law Nancy Benson of West Valley, UT, 20 grandchildren and 7 and 3/4's great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Gwen Benson and a brother, Michael Benson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at the Moreland LDS Church with Bishop Ron Capson of the Moreland 5th Ward conducting. The family will meet with friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home and again on Friday at the church for an hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Moreland Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
