Virginia (Hampton) Anderson Obituary
Virginia Hampton Anderson, 99, of Blackfoot, Idaho, died at Bingham Memorial Hospital on Feb. 7, 2017 of heart failure. 
Virginia was born on July 23, 1917 in Jameston, Idaho, to Clair Myron Hampton and Sadie Bolander Hampton. She was the oldest of 13 children.
Virginia married George Anders Anderson on Sept. 13, 1934 in the Logan, Utah temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was admired throughout her life for gardening, canning food, and her famous homemade bread. She was always a hard worker and worked for Sunspiced as a potato sorter and grader for many years. She loved to travel and visit her siblings. Virginia was a member of the "Daughters of the Utah Pioneers" for most of her life.
Virginia is survived by her three sisters, Violet Burke, Venus (Lloyd) Crow, and Darlene (John) Vickrey; her daughters, Sadie Sharlene Henney and Mary Joyce (Richard) Scherbel; son Leon (JaNene) Anderson; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband George Anders Anderson, son Clair Hampton Anderson, son-in-law Ronald Henney, brothers Forrest Clair Hampton, Kenneth Hampton, and Victor Hampton sisters Marjorie Fredrickson, Joy Hampton, Lola Sadie Hampton, Norma Hanna Hampton, and Syble Nell Hampton, grandson Richard Lee Scherbel, and great grandson William Richard Beesley.
Funeral Services will be held at Hawker Funeral Home on Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held at Hawker Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m on Sunday, Feb. 19 and from 10-11 a.m. on Monday prior to the funeral services.
