Virginia Rae Hanselman Greaves Obituary
Virginia Rae Hanselman Greaves, 89 of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away on Sept. 3, 2016 after a long illness, two days before her 90th birthday.
Virginia was born on Sept. 5, 1926 in Inglewood, California to Harold and Victoria Gastino Hanselman. She lived in California until her marriage to George Andra Greaves on March 11, 1946. They moved to Blackfoot where they raised their two children, Harold Michael and Susan Rae.
Virginia enjoyed fishing, coaching girls' softball, and staying active. She worked for American Potato for many years and then moved to Boise, Idaho for a short time.
Her love of California took her back there as a volunteer to drive bus for the Olympic Games in 1984. She also received numerous driving awards and cherished letters from school children thanking her for being such a good bus driver and for her kindnesses to them.
She is survived by her son, Harold Michael (Susan), Riverton, Utah and her grandchildren, Brent (Lisa) Greaves, Bradley (Cindy) Greaves, Steven Greaves of Utah, and Angeleena (Jody) Pitchford and Paula Christensen Fowler of Blackfoot.  Her great-grandchildren are Josh, Makenna, Chase, Taylor, Cole, Easton, Hudson, Beckham and Skyler (Rebecca), Chanler, Alazha, and Chacee. And one great-great-grandchild, Lucian. She is also survived by her sister Gerry of California, and son-in-law Ismael Bencomo, of Blackfoot.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Greaves, her parents, Harold and Victoria Hanselman, daughter Susan Rae Bencomo, and granddaughter Shannon Jensen. Also, her sisters, Priscilla and Ramona.
The family wishes to express appreciation to her friends at Blackfoot Housing and to her care givers at The Willows Assisted Living Center and Avalon Home Care/Hospice and Blackfoot Hospice during her last days.
A graveside service will be held for family members and friends at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com
