Virginia Whitworth Obituary
Virginia Ruth "Ginger" Thompson Whitworth, 52, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at her home after a brave battle with cancer the past 14 years.
She was born Sept. 29, 1964 in Idaho Falls the daughter of Blaine Loy Thompson and Winne Merlene Johnson Thompson.
She attended school in Idaho Falls in her youth and graduated from Bonneville High School. 
She attended ISU, Nazarene College and University of Phoenix where she received a degree in Accounting and Education.
On March 25, 1993, she married JR Whitworth in Idaho Falls. She had lived in Thomas since 1993.
Ginger was a member of the Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church.
In her youth, she volunteered her time as a candy-striper. 
She worked for a total of 19 years between Blackfoot, Snake River and Blackfoot Community Charter school districts.
Ginger enjoyed reading, bargain shopping, animals, camping, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and skiing on a perfect day, but especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, JR Whitworth of Thomas; children, Jerahlyn Whitworth  of Juneau, Alaska, Jeremy (Hope) Whitworth of Meridian, Idaho, Tina Marie Whitworth of Pocatello, Ernest (Shelby) Whitworth of Chubbuck, and Samantha "Samm" Whitworth of Chubbuck;  parents, Blaine and Winnie Thompson of Idaho Falls;  five grandchildren, Trevek, Ashton, Brylie, Dian and Kadence and one niece Brittaney Thompson, Idaho Falls.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dwight Thompson and her nephew Tyler Thompson.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho.
The family will meet with friends 6-8: p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
