He was an active member of the LDS Church. He served in many capacities. His favorites were as a Temple Officiator and as a Missionary in the Nauvoo Illinois Mission. He was blessed with a beautiful tenor voice and enjoyed singing and performing.
He married Diane DeGregory on November 18, 1953. They have celebrated 62 years of marriage. He is preceded in death by his parents Emil and Elizabeth, his daughter Peggy (Kyle) Speas, his sisters, Orla (James) Egbert and Verna (Marvin) Lewis, his brothers Glen, Allen, Roy and John.
