Walter Ivan Jensen Obituary
Walter Ivan Jensen, 85, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho.
He was born October 29, 1930 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Victor Jensen and Alverda Rose Chaffin Jensen.
During his school years, he played basketball and graduated from Blackfoot High School. 
He served in Germany during Korean War in the Army.
On December 20, 1974, he married Loa Jean Larsen in Twin Falls, Idaho. She preceded him in death on September 9, 1996.
He was a member of the American Legion, US Team Ropers Association where he had won numerous team roping competitions.
He worked for JR Simplot Gay Mines as an explosive expert.
He loved his arena, roping with his friends and horse. He enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his children, Kim (Anita) Jensen of Blackfoot, Rhonda (Dave) Dahlquist of Blackfoot, Ivanna (Bruce) Tiedeman of Cordova, AK and Tracey (Gary) Glazer of Mesa, AZ; step-children, Shane Larsen of Blackfoot, Shaunna Weatherston of Boise and Sharla Hershberger of Chubbuck; brother, Weldon W. Jensen of Blackfoot; sister, Patricia L. (Doug) Ogden of Meridian, sister-in-law, Betty J. Jensen; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loa Jean, a brother, Boyd Jensen and a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Jean and Rodney Grant, and a sister in law, Elma "Fuzz" Jensen.
A celebration of life will be announced next spring at his arena.
