Walter "Keith" Simpson Obituary
Walter "Keith" Simpson, 65, of Blackfoot, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2014,at his home, after a courageous battling with lung cancer.
Keith was born May 14, 1949 to Walter Simpson and Ruth Foley, in Pontiac, Illinois. He attended and graduated from York High School in Illinois. After high school Keith packed up and headed to Utah for an adventure. While in Utah Keith met and fell in love with Mary Lou Coon. On June 20, 1983 he and Mary Lou were married.
Keith was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing with his friends and family. He worked as a mechanic throughout his life and was a big time motor-head. He had a huge Smurf collection and was referred to, by his family, by the name Papa Smurf. 
At the drop of a hat Keith would be there to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a dear friend to all and would give you the shirt off of his back.
Keith is survived by his children: Keith Clawson, of Blackfoot, Cori (Billy) Haygood, of Blackfoot, Idaho, Chad (Melissa) Clawson, of Lava, Idaho, Tammy (Jerry) Oldham, of Illinois, Joey (Erin) Simpson, of Illinois, Michael Paul Simpson, of Illinois, K.J. Simpson, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Billy (Danielle) Davis, of Bountiful, Utah, and Tammy Gough, of California, his brothers: Danny (Mary) Simpson, of Illinois, Steve (Wanda) Simpson, of Illinois, Gary (Jane) Simpson, of Alabama, a sister: Linda (Grover) Moore, of Illinois, numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, 32 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and four very close friends and brothers, Randy Mounts, John Clark, Brad Kronberger, and Bill Diedriches.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Walter and Ruth Simpson, a very close friend and brother, Edward "Eddie" Hunter.
A funeral service will be held on 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho. A viewing will be held the night before of Friday, December 5, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home and again 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to Dr. Kirt McKinley and the Staff at Bingham Memorial Hospital. They would also like to thank Keith Clawson, McKalia Haygood, and Willie Haygood for being there and taking care of their grandfather.
