Wayne Dean Stump Obituary
Wayne Dean Stump, 74, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 under Encompass Hospice Care.
Dean was born September 17, 1943 to Wayne Stump and Helen Zimmerman in Wendell, Idaho. At a young age he moved with his family to southeast Idaho and spent the remainder of his life in that area.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Young Men's organization and as a home teacher. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union. He spent many years in construction and was very proud of the bridges and overpasses he helped build.
He worked for and retired from Blackfoot School District #55, several schools benefited from his superior cabinet making skills.
Dean married Kay Oram on April 7, 2006. She brought one daughter, Kim (Bret) Lockyer; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren with one on the way, to the marriage.
Dean is survived by his wife Kay of Blackfoot; daughter, Kim (Bret) Lockyer of Firth; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Tucker Johnson, Richard (Sharon) Oram, Kent (Dawnette) Oram; sister-in-law, Lorna Van Horn and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Helen Stump; brother-in-law, Robert Van Horn, and sister-in-law Marti Johnson
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Hawker Funeral Home. Family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
