1972 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Wendy Lynnette (Swainston) Duchscher Obituary
Wendy Lynnette Swainston Duchscher, 42, of Blackfoot, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 30, 2014 from a long term battle with ongoing health complications.
Wendy was born on April 25, 1972 in Blackfoot to Lynn L. Swainston and Gloria I. Sandoval. She graduated from Battle Mountain High School. She moved to Utah where she worked for a few years and returned back to the Blackfoot area.
In 1997 she met and fell in love with Martin "Marty" Duchscher. On Feb. 13, 1999 they were married the day before Valentine's Day and settled down together here in the Blackfoot area.
Wendy had a monumental love for animals and loved being surrounded by them. She rescued two baby foxes and coerced her husband Marty into building them a habitat. Wendy even went as far as to name them Rocky and Roxy. Wendy and Marty not only had a once in a lifetime love of each other but also shared an extensive love of the outdoors and the hunting and fishing activities that it provided them. Wendy's love for family was unmatched, always wanting to be involved no matter the cost. She had a special place in her heart for her two grandsons.
She is survived by her husband, Martin "Marty" Duchscher, of Blackfoot, Idaho; daughters, Cassie (Tyler) Duchscher of Blackfoot, Cherrelle Crandall (Swainston) of Blackfoot and Brandee Duchscher of Blackfoot; her mother, Gloria (Lynn) Rowley of Blackfoot; her brothers, Nick Swainston of Tulsa, Okla.; Kenny (Sara) Swainston of Melborne Fla.; Eddy (Jessica) Swainston of Reno, Nev.; Sammi (Lisa) Del a Rosa of Blackfoot; her grandsons, Bentlee McDaniel and Zander McDaniel; and many aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lynn L. Swainston; her uncle, Boyd J. Leavitt; and grandma, Mildred Swainston Lowe.
A celebration of Wendy's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Family and friends will gather for a viewing the night before on Sunday, January 4, 2014 from 6-8: p.m. and again for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.hawkerfunerlahome.com.
