Wilton Duane "Curly" Hanson Obituary
Wilton Duane "Curly" Hanson, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 16, 2015.  Curly lived a long, meaningful life that can't be summed up in just a few words.  Even in his last days, Curly had a keen mind, a great sense of humor and was always grateful for another day to be with Betty.
Born February 8, 1930, in Eagle Nest, New Mexico, to William David and Dora Dee Bella Hanson, Curly was Valedictorian of his class at Redmond Union High School.  He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and took basic training at Fort Lewis, Washington.
On August 30, 1951, he married Betty Ann Stewart in Winnemucca, Nevada.  They moved to Idaho Falls in 1960, where Curly was an electronics technician for Argonne National Laboratory.  He was proud to work on the first nuclear reactor to generate electricity at EBR1.  His career took him from vacuum tubes to microchips.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Curly served in the Boy Scouts.  He enjoyed working on his homes and yard, coaching his son's ball teams, the beauty of the outdoors and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He looked forward to attending, supporting and helping them in their activities, projects and everyday life.
Curly dedicated his life to providing a better life for Betty, his children and grandchildren.  He never complained about his growing up years, saying "Looking back I wouldn't have changed anything, but I want an easier, better life for my family."   He taught many valuable lessons through his example; be honest, dependable, never be afraid of hard work, learn new things, be a true friend, create time for people and things that matter most, embrace and appreciate the simple things – a beautiful sunset, majestic mountains, the song of the meadow lark, a child's loving hug...
We'll always remember and cherish all you've done for us.  We know you were proud of us, loved us unconditionally, and you're with us, watching over and helping us.  We love and appreciate you!  We'll miss you, but know we'll all be together again!
Curly is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty
son, Robert Duane (Shannon) Hanson of Santa Fe, NM,
