I think of you very often. Oh how I miss your weather broadcasts. I made sure to include some of your style in each of my broadcasts as a memorial to you "My Friend" and you were a friend to all of us who watched you. You helped remind me to be a friend to all. We love and miss you.

I've been watching the weather channel, since the early 1990's. I really liked Dave instantly, his style was amazing, how he keeps saying, my friends. He seemed like such a great guy. He fraught so hard for a decade, then cancer came back. This is life, it's sad.
He was one of the main reasons I became fascinated with weather, from Snow to Severe Weather.
God bless his soul, he'll be greatly missed.

I have always loved the weather. I was touring all over the US with my band in the 90s and we always loved watching him . it was a sensevof home even though we were in the middle of nowhere a lot. He was so funny and whitty. We did an interview on a radio station in atlanta and said he helped us get through tough stuff. We watched him for fun and for a sense of home. Being from atlanta. He sent us an autographed picture which we all fought over! Thank you Dave!

I first became hooked on Dave in the early 90's when I would return home after my 3-11 evening shifts - I so looked forward to sitting down and relaxing with him and his unconventional forecasts- His delivery was poetry in motion, and over the years he became to his fans what I would characterize a National Treasure. I feel sorrow in his absence and consider him utterly irreplaceable. My wish is that TWC would honor his memory

I started watching Dave sometime late 80s, early 90s and he hooked me on weather immediately. If humor was needed or appropriate....he added just the right amount. If seriousness or sadness was appropriate he was able to bring the emotion out of anyone. I can't imagine the heartache his family is experiencing but, in my opinion, this is a perfect example of someone losing a battle but winning the war (the war being the responsibility each of us has to bring happiness and sunshine to as many people daily as possible). My prayers are with the family.

As a weather geek myself, I will miss Dave very much. His courage through cancer -- as well as the times he was forced to take on non-weather related work which I understand he did with a smile and great enthusiasm as well -- will always be an inspiration to me. I send prayers to his family and prayers for Dave's soul. His time on earth was well spent.

Mr. Schwartz was blessed with the ability to connect with his viewers in a way that made one feel that he was the next door neighbor. There was nothing pretentious in his delivery, for he seemed to be in the room with his audience. I wish I had the opportunity to have met him, if nothing else to simply tell him how much I appreciated his style and down to earth manner. RIP

I've always been fascinated with weather and became a fan of TWC back when it was
first on the air.
I remember Dave from the early years.
I told my friend of mine who worked at TWC back then how I admired his passion and knowledge of weather and his on air friendly manner that he projected to his audience.
She told him how much of a fan I was of him and TWC and without hesitation, she said he graciously autographed a photo of himself for me.
As I have read more about him since his untimely death a few days ago, this solidifies the person he was.
His presence was captivating and his knowledge of the weather was impeccable.
Rest in peace my friend.
I hope you realized how admired you were by so many people. You will never be forgotten.
My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the entire Weather Channel staff.

For those of us who make a habit of watching the weather channel a great deal, we get to where the meteorologists seem like family, and Dave was no exception. I have had great concern about his health here of late, not knowing the diagnosis, but suspecting it was a form of cancer. I regret the passing of this kind and wonderful man with the Weather Channel. My deepest sympathy.

In 1982, Dave and I worked at Athens Regional Hospital, Athens GA. We were UGA colleagues and close friends. He was interested in radio/TV work and wanted to go to Atlanta from where I came. I got him a job there as an apartment Maintenance Man. He began to work at the Weather Channel, placing the "text runner" below the scenes. He called me late one night, "watch me at 2:30 a.m., they are going to let me do a weather topic.." He was so excited. The rest is history. My good friend has left this world for one without pain or sorrow. R.I.P Dave and may your memory be eternal. Condolences to Ruby.

A neighbor for many years, Dave Schwartz was a kind man, always with a pleasant or witty comment, and keen observation. Occasionally, I'd join Dave and his wife for an evening stroll through Druid Hills. He was also our go-to man for weather which he always managed to make entertaining and informative, as much about the places on his weather map as the weather itself. We shall all miss him greatly. -Jack Miller
