Funeral service for Mr. Emmett "Smiley" Hall, Jr. 92 of Anniston, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Rabbittown Baptist Church. Rev. Kenneth Joe Hutto and Dr. Tony McCain will officiate. Eulogy will be provided by his son Randall Hall. Burial will follow in White Plains Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Rabbittown Baptist Church. Mr. Hall passed away February 13, 2020 at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Bessie Hall; daughter, Brenda Lee Hall; and great-grandson, Hunter Hall. Mr. Hall was a native and life-time resident of Calhoun County and a member of Rabbittown Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot in 1982, allowing him to spend more time with his family. He was long-time cattle farmer and did so until 2017. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Mr. Hall is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Nannie Lee Hall; children, Mary Helen Cheatwood and her husband, Woody, Randall Hall, Larry Hall and his wife, Carol, Kelvin Hall and his wife, Vicki; grandchildren, Amanda Hightower, Kristi Miller, Brandi Edwards, Travers Hall, David Hall, Craig Hall, Casey Hall and Brad Hall; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Whiteside; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Hall, Craig Hall, Casey Hall, Brad Hall, Ken Hightower and Eli Hightower.
