Graveside service for Mr. Jack Wayne Glassco, 89, of Anniston, will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Dr. Donnie Seals will be officiating. There will be no public visitation, per the family's wishes. In accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, masks and social distancing are encouraged for those attending the service. Mr. Glassco went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Left to cherish Mr. Glassco's memory are his wife of 66 years, June Glassco of Anniston; his son, Wesley (Gloria) Glassco of Birmingham; three nephews, Keith (Phyllis) Kelley of Weaver, Steven (Edith) McDonald of Texas, and Ashley (Marcie) McDonald of Athens; one niece, Cynthia Haynes of Weaver; two great-nephews, Michael, and Jeremy Kelley of Weaver; one great-great-niece, Emma Kelley of Weaver; several other great-nieces and great-nephews; and one sister-in-law, Joyce Kelley of Weaver. Mr. Glassco was born on November 24, 1931 in Gadsden, Alabama. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery and furthered his education by obtaining a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University and a master's degree in Business from Jacksonville State University. Mr. Glassco worked as an electrical engineer for Alabama Power for 32 years, where he retired. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, uncle, and a friend to all who knew him. Mr. Glassco served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War Era and faithfully served his Lord and Savior each day of his life. He and his wife attended First Baptist at McClellan where they were both faithful in attendance and worship. In his spare time, Mr. Glassco enjoyed reading, working Sudoku, and Crossword puzzles, and being an avid Auburn fan. To know Mr. Glassco was to love him and he will be greatly missed by so many. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations please be made to First Baptist Church at McClellan, 851 Morton Road, Anniston, AL, 36205.
