Theodore Carl Albert "Ted" Dass Jr., 82, of Anniston, Alabama passed away at home the morning of January 30th after a brief illness. Ted was born on May 23, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to Anna (Kurth) Dass and Theodore Carl Albert Dass Sr. Ted raised five children in Wonder Lake, Illinois. He had a long career as a corporate accountant, retiring after 30 years at Echlin Manufacturing. With Kathy, his wife of 36 years, he was a dedicated member of McHenry First United Methodist Church. Through the church, he was a lay minister, mentor, and missionary. He and Kathy enjoyed traveling in their retirement, eventually relocating to Anniston, Alabama. As members of Anniston First United Methodist Church, he enjoyed his weekly fellowship with the men's group. Ted is survived by his wife, Kathy (Miller) Dass, his four children: Todd Dass, Keith (Carmen) Dass, Heidi (Jeff) Martin, and Dana Jenkins; two step-children: Karen and Michael Wurl; 6 grandchildren; and sister Joanne (Dass) Black. He was preceded in death by his parents Anna (Kurth) and Theodore Dass, Sr., son James "Jamie" Dass, daughter-in-law Kim (Dino) Dass, and brother-in-law Donald Black. A memorial service will be held at Anniston First United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 2nd at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Anniston First United Methodist Church or Camp Lee.
