AGE: 89 • Formerly of Somerville
Joseph Comito died March 16, 2013, at Cabot Cove in Largo, FL. Mr. Comito was born in Brooklyn, NY, resided in Shohola, PA , where his was a member of the Fire Police, and Somerville, before moving to Florida in 1976. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 807 & 707 in Brooklyn, NY where he was employed as a truck driver for many years. A Navy Veteran of WWII, he served as a Coxswain and a member of the Armed Guard and continued his proud service as a member of American Legion Post 12 of Somerville.
He was predeceased by his siblings Thomas Comito and Elizabeth Biscotti. Surviving are his daughters Karen Magliaro (husband Alan) and Christine Kennedy (husband Rick), grandchildren Joseph Burns, Troy Kennedy (wife Stephanie), Tina Kennedy Borre (husband Carl) and David Magliaro (wife Cassandra), great grandchildren Austyn and Jaidyn Borre, Troy Dallas Kennedy and David Wyatt Magliaro, a sister Frances Scavelli and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will begin at 11am on Saturday, March 23, followed by an American Legion service at 12:30pm and concluding with a religious service at 1pm at the Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations amy be made to the American Legion Post 12, Union Ave., Somerville, NJ 08876.
