Frank Edgerly Sr.
Brick
Frank Edgerly Sr., of Brick, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 13, 2013, at his cherished log cabin in Pennsylvania. Born in Orange, Frank was a longtime resident of Wall township later residing in Brick. Frank was a veteran of the United States Navy having served his country from 1958 to 1962. He spent a lifelong career in construction, retiring in June of 2000. An accomplished athlete since his youth, Frank enjoyed playing football, baseball and especially fast pitch softball. One of his greatest joys was coaching his son in Pop-Warner football as well as watching him play through his high school and college careers. Frank could always be found on the sidelines of his grandchildren's sporting events, loudly cheering them on with great pride.
Frank was predeceased by his daughter, Debbie in 2009. He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; his son and daughter-in-law, Frank Jr. and Lorri of Eatontown; his daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Jim of Clive, Iowa; his heartbroken grandchildren whom he loved very much, Richie, Brittany, Kaitlin, Brooke, Megan, Lauren, Ryan and Emma; his brothers, Chuck, Norman, Guy, Paul, and Brad; and his sisters, Rose and Pat.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. only Friday, May 17 at Johnson-McGinley Funeral Home, 2652 Highway 138, Wall. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 18 from the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial St. James R.C. Church, Red Bank. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to your local Wounded Warrior Project Chapter in Frank's name would be greatly appreciated.
