Ernest Perri, 80, of Manchester died Friday, June 21, 2013 at Van Dyke Hospice in Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he lived on Staten Island for 39 years before moving to Manchester in 2002. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He was an electrician and foreman for Local #3 for 50 years, retiring in 2002. Ernest was a member of the Men's Club and the Italian-American Club of the Renaissance.
He is predeceased his sisters, Maria Rutscheidt and Esther Dabbiero. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Ruth Anna; his daughter, Patricia and husband Vincent DeRosa of Howell; son, Dr. Daniel Perri and wife Mary of Goshen, NY; and siblings, Nicolena Vinaccio of Virginia, Adele Sapienza and husband John of New City, NY, Joseph Perri and wife Annette of Staten Island, Louis Perri of Manalapan, Dr. Benito Perri of New York, NY, Edie Colasuono of Matawan, Vincent Perri and wife Rosemarie of Mantaloking; brother-in-law, Erich Rutscheidt; as well as 5 grandchildren, Kristin, Matthew, Meghan, Alyssa, and Amanda.
Visitation is 2-4 & 7-9pm Wednesday, June 26 at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester NJ 08759. Funeral Liturgy is 10 AM Thursday, June 27 at St. John's Church, Lakehurst with interment to follow at Brig. Gen. William C Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
