AGE: 79 • Lakewood

Ronald Douglas Robbins, 79 of the Fairways, Lakewood died Sunday, Jan 6, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. A graduate from Rutgers University, he was employed for 18 years as a payroll programmer for Hoffman-LaRoche, Nutley before retiring in 1985. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Born in Troy, NY, he lived in Brielle for 10 years before moving to Lakewood 12 years ago. He is predeceased by his daughter Cindy, who died in 1959. Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Edna (Zizza) Robbins, 2 sons, Steven and Thomas Robbins, 2 daughters, Lesley Puza and Susan Robbins, 2 step-daughters, Mary Scrupski and Annie Goedkoop, a step-son Stephen Scrupski. Also surviving is a brother, Fenton Robbins, 2 sisters, Betty Reynolds, Gail Hayner and 3 grandchildren, Heather, Tyler and Samantha. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, Jan 12, from 1-3 pm at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester with a funeral service to commence at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Salvation Army, PO Box 1906 Toms River, NJ 08753.
