Marilyn Toth Gerner, 74, of Monroe died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Merwick Rehabilitation Center in Plainsboro, NJ. Born Jan. 15, 1939, in Linden, NJ, she graduated from Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1957 and lived for many years in Edison and Metuchen before moving to Monroe Township. Marilyn was a Charter Member of the JFK Medical Center Auxiliary and served as Secretary to the President of the Auxiliary. She also volunteered at the JFK Gift Shop at the hospital and had been a teller at the Fords National Bank in Fords.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen (Yelencsics) Toth. Surviving are her husband, James F. Gerner; son Richard R. Gerner of Somerset; brother, John E. Toth and wife Irene of Hilton Head, SC; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will begin Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at 9:45AM from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840 followed by a 10:15AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Cathedral. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-9PM Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the JFK Medical Center Foundation Auxiliary, 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08820.
