Edward C. Bullwinkel II, 73, of Eatontown, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at home with his family by his side. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to N.J. in the mid 1950's and has lived in Eatontown for over 48 years with his family. He attended Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked for the United States Government for 35 years before retiring in 1998. After retirement, he worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, Motorola & C3I as a consultant. Edward served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and was a member of the Eatontown Fire Dept. and First Aid Squads, serving as Captain of the first aid squad and as the Emergency Management Coordinator.
He is predeceased by his parents; Edward C. Bullwinkel I and Vera Van Dine Bullwinkel. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edith Marie Gorenflo Bullwinkel; three sons, Edward III of Houston, Texas, John and his wife Naomi of Virginia, Matt and his wife Vicki of Mississippi, a grandson; Jacob (Jack) Bullwinkel.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. All other services will be private.
