Jay E Disbrow
AGE: 91 • Brick
Jay E. Disbrow, age 91, who was a beloved artist, illustrator, writer, speaker and author, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Willow Springs in Brick. Born on March 16, 1926 in Neptune, NJ where he was also raised he most recently resided in Brick.
Jay was graduate of Famous Artists Schools in 1963 (formerly of Westport, Conn), in commercial art and illustration. He was a comic book illustrator and writer of the 1950's and then went on to become a Government technical illustrator for approximately 27 years.
Surviving are his beloved wife Amelia Stumpf Disbrow; his son, Alex Disbrow; his daughter, Valerie Trigili and her husband Michael; his brother, Warren Disbrow; his niece Eleanor Prevete and nephew Warren Disbrow Jr.
Funeral Services were private and held under the direction of O'Brien Funeral Home, Brick.

So sorry to learn this news too late. Mr. and Mrs. Disbrow were so kind to invite my family over for supper wayyy back around 1980 when I was tiny and fascinated by comic art. Very gracious. He worked with my Dad at Tri-Tac, I believe, long before Fort Monmouth's de-commissioning by BRAC. R.I.P!
