Kenneth Peter Grenci, PE, of Plainfield, New Jersey, died peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, while on vacation in Providence, Rhode Island. Born June 8, 1950 in Newark, New Jersey, Mr. Grenci leaves behind to treasure his memory his beloved wife, Melanie Marchio Grenci and their two children, Curtis J. Grenci and Kate E. Grenci, of whom he was deeply proud. Mr. Grenci is also survived by his four sisters, Agnes, Christine, Patricia, and Susan; his brothers-in-law, Michael Marchio and Timothy Marchio, along with their wives; his brother, Joseph Salvato and Carol, his wife; his nieces and nephews, Scott, Leslie, Emma, Anna, Sarah, David, Rosie, and Robert; his great-niece and great-nephews, Genevieve, Michael, and Desmond; and his god-daughter, Leann Cook. Mr. Grenci leaves behind a closely knit group of friends, for whom he had the utmost love and respect.

A 1972 graduate of Rutgers College of Engineering, Mr. Grenci owned KCMG Consulting. He was an avid volunteer, giving of his time to the Holy Trinity Food Pantry, GSHNJ Camp Hoover, Mount Saint Mary Academy's Father's Club, and Saint Joseph's High School's Father's Club. He was on the board of Nia Community Habitat. Mr. Grenci was a member of the ASME, the NJSPE, the Rutgers Alumni Association, and the NRA. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Grenci enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a talented shade tree mechanic and carpenter, who lovingly restored his home by hand.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 1:30 pm to 5 pm at the Msgr. Henry J. Watterson Council #1711 of the Knights of Columbus, 2400 North Avenue, Scotch Plains, New Jersey 07076. The family respectfully requests nonperishable items be brought to the gathering to be donated to the Holy Trinity Food Pantry.
