AGE: 97 • Point Pleasant

Adelaide Ickowski, 97 of Point Pleasant NJ, originally from Brooklyn NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2017. "Addie" loved being at home, entertaining and surrounding herself with friends and family. She was an avid cook, who loved reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and gardening. She also loved sewing and making clothes, a skill she taught others while working for Macy's in Midtown NYC during WW2 while her husband was serving overseas.

Adelaide was the loving Wife of 53 years to Edward S. Ickowski who served in WW2 as an Air Force pilot; devoted Mother of Edward C. Ickowski and his wife Sandy of Vero Beach, FL; Grandmother to Edward J. Ickowski and his wife Jayne from Wayne NJ; John E. Ickowski and his wife Rhonda from Meyerstown PA; a cherished great-grandmother of eight; survived by her sister Victoria Zuppardi of San Diego California and was pre deceased by her five other siblings, Marie Bree, Louise Giglio, Helen Grieco, Fredrick Fiero and Pasqual Fiero.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Van Hise and Callagan Funeral Home 812 Arnold Ave. in Point Pleasant N.J. A church service will be held on Friday, June 23rd at 10:00 AM at St Peters Church in Point Pleasant Beach. In lieu of flowers, anyone planning an expression of sympathy in Addie's memory is asked to consider these charities that provided her loving support and assistance.
