Toms River - Alana Mary Poloski 64 of Toms River died Sunday, December 24, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born and raised in Paterson, she lived in Lakewood for 12 years before moving to Toms River in 1999. She was employed for 15 years as a Library Assistant at the Jackson Township Branch of the Ocean County Library, primarily in the Children's Area. She was a Cub Scout Pack Leader at St Mary's School, Lakewood. She belonged to the Star of Hope Ministries, Paterson. She was a master gardener and a competitive Mahjong player. She loved working with kids ranging in ages from infancy to High School age. Her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren taking part in their life long development. Surviving is her loving husband of 42 years, John P. Poloski, 2 sons and a daughter in law, John A. of Freehold, Matthew A. and Brittany Poloski, of Jackson, 2 daughters and a son in law, Rachel Poloski of Rutherford, Tracey and Scott Koast of San Antonio, TX, a brother, Mark Anthony of Point Pleasant, and 4 grandchildren, Lily and Henry Poloski, and Samantha and Daniel Koast. Memorial Gathering is Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Service is Saturday at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
