AGE: 88 • Middletown

Alexander Jerome Finch, 88, of Monmouth Hills, Middletown NJ died on Friday, June 10, 2011 in West Long Branch, NJ. He was a Corporate Adjuster for Travelers Insurance Co. (formerly USF & G Insurance) in New York City, NY retiring in 1983 after 35 yrs of service. He was a graduate of Rutgers Univ. in 1948. He was a member of Navesink Country Club; former board member of the Red Bank Historical Society; former board member of the Pine Creek Railroad, Allaire, NJ; member of the St. Nicholas Society, New York City; member of the Sons of the American Revolution, New York City; member of the Knights of the Temple of Jerusalem, New York City. He was a member of All Saints Memorial Episcopal Church, Navesink, NJ. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. He was born in New York City, NY and was a life-long resident of Monmouth Hills, Middletown.

He is survived by his nephew, Alexander & wife Theresa Finch of West Long Branch; niece, Anna Barbara Finch of Holmdel; sister-in-law, Barbara P. Finch of Holmdel; great nieces & nephews, Michaelah, Sterling & Sage Finch. He was predeceased by his parents, Ellis Jerome & Grace White Finch; brother, David S. Finch.

Relatives & friends are invited to call at Posten's Funeral Home, 59 E. Lincoln Ave. at Central Ave. Atlantic Highlands, NJ on Tuesday, 7 - 9 PM. Uncle Alec was always a gentleman to me and always showed how much he loved his family. Thinking of all of you at this difficult time.

Alex was a long time friend from my Pine Creek days. He was a freindly and unique individual who will be missed by all who knew him. In the photo, taken in 1987, Alex stands out in the middle with his red bow tie.
