Alice Jackson Georgeson Obituary
Alice Jackson Georgeson

Whiting - Alice Jackson Georgeson passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at the age of 96. Born July 31, 1921, Alice Elizabeth Romans was reared in Whiting, NJ, where at the age of 9, she lovingly and willingly took on the responsibility of caring for her three younger siblings after the untimely, unexpected death of her mother, Hester Albertson Romans. Her two surviving younger sisters Evelyn Nutt and Emma Ziegler still today recall her selfless, loving care.

She is predeceased by her first born, three year old son, Conway, and her husband of 52 years, Conway Aldren Jackson. She will be lovingly and forever remembered for her love and family devotion by her surviving daughters Grace Jackson Lehotay and Dr. Joyce Jackson Kalinoski, and her two grandchildren, Roman Kalinovski and Alexis Kalinoski Kennedy.

In addition to being a devoted mother, she worked full time outside of the home as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company; and upon the discontinuation of the opportunity of employment in the Tom's River location, she was employed by Sears in the Tom's River store on Main Street and retired after 25 years of service from Sears at the Ocean County Mall location.

A dedicated mother involved in her daughter's lives included serving as a Sunday School Teacher at the Lakehurst Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Youth Group Advisor, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, and PTA President. Active in her membership in the Lakehurst Presbyterian Church, she also served in the roles of Deacon and Elder. She has been awarded Honorary Lifetime Membership in The Lakehurst Presbyterian Church.

Viewing will be held Friday, March 30, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. with a funeral service at 12:00 P.M. at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Whiting followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Tuckerton, NJ.
