Althea Fredrickson

Manahawkin - Althea Fredrickson, "Aunt Tea", 99, of Manahawkin, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018. Althea, a life-long resident of Manahawkin, was born May 31, 1918 to the late George and Laura Fredrickson. She was a 1935 graduate of Tuckerton High School, and attended Strayer Business School. She worked for Atlantic City Electric for 42 years. Althea was a life-long member of Manahawkin Baptist Church, and taught Sunday school there for many years where she brought many children to know the Lord. She volunteered and supported many charitable organizations. Especially close to her heart was Lighthouse Christian Academy.

Althea was predeceased by her brothers, George and Kenneth Fredrickson, sister-in-law, Lorraine Fredrickson and nephew George Fredrickson. She is survived by her nieces, Kathleen Lynch and husband Doug; Laura Gilbert and husband George; nephews, Kenneth (Diane) and Richard (Brenda) Fredrickson, and by numerous great & great-great nieces and nephews. Althea is also survived by her amazing, loving church family and was blessed by many special, dear friends that are too numerous to mention. The Lord has been good to her, and Althea loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a good and faithful servant.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 2:00 at the Manahawkin Baptist Church.

Charitable donations in her memory can be made to Manahawkin Baptist Church or Lighthouse Christian Academy, 400 Beach Ave., Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
