Angela "Lee" Cappetta Obituary
Angela "Lee" Cappetta

AGE: 95 • Toms River

Angela Lee Cappetta passed away peacefully on November 9, 2017, just five days before her 96th birthday, surrounded by her family. She was born in 1921 to Salvatore and Filomena Santeramo, in Stanford, Connecticut. She grew up in Irvington, New Jersey before moving to Kearny in 1945.

Lee was a volunteer nurse's aid for Columbus Hospital during World War II. During the war, she also worked for Pollock Manufacturing Co. where she met the love of her life, Louis Joseph Cappetta. They married on April 7, 1945 and had three sons: Angelo, Louis and Gary.

For many years, the family vacationed in Seaside Heights, NJ. Lee was instrumental in working with her husband in growing the Royal Arcade. She was an active member of Deborah Hospital, Seaside Chapter of Deborah, Brick Women's Club, Columbia Civic League, the Italian-American Club and more. She attended St. Justin's Roman Catholic Church every Sunday and was a member of St. Justin's Rosary Society.

She loved having her family and friends visit her. As soon as you walked in she wanted you to have something to eat or drink. She loved cooking. She would start her sauce in the morning because it had to cook all day, and she never used a recipe as her cooking was pure talent. She enjoyed a lifetime of good health. She personified true strength, beauty and grace.

Angela Lee Cappetta is survived by her three sons: Angelo, Louis and Gary. Her four grandchildren and their spouses: Douglas and Adria Cappetta, Jeffrey and Cheryl Cappetta, Nicholas and Gina (Cappetta) Taaffe and Dan and Alycia (Cappetta) Dobos; and her eleven great-grandchildren: Evan, Graeson, Olivia, Chase, Louis, Zander, Nicholas, Chloe, Reese, Jase and Myla Filomena.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 13th from 4pm-8pm at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Church Road, Toms River. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday Nov 14th at 9:30am at St Justin's Roman Catholic Church, Fischer Blvd., Toms River. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lee's memory to Ocean of Love, 1709 Highway 37E, Toms River, NJ 08753. www.sivertonmemorial.com
