Angela Disteso

AGE: 75 • Toms River

Angela Disteso, age 75, of Toms River and formerly of Wayne, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2017. She was surrounded by her incredible adoring family who were with her during the last hours of her beautiful life.

Born on April 5, 1941, Angela was raised in Hoboken. After getting married she moved to Union City, then Weehawken. She moved to Wayne in 1973 and after 15 years she moved to Toms River where she has resided for the last 29 years.

Angela met her soulmate Salvatore while they were in high school. After five years of dating they got married in 1962. She was blessed with three loving boys.

Angela worked for many years as a teacher at St. Johns in Jersey City. She then followed her loving husband and worked in the computer room at Charles Scribner in Totowa NJ. She eventually worked for Mitsubishi as the warehouse manager in South Plainfield and then Secaucus before retiring in 2004.

Angela loved doing many things. She was a phenomenal cook and loved to make big meals for her family, she loved working in her garden, going to bingo, and crabbing. She was most happy when her family was with her, especially her 5 grandchildren. She would teach them her cooking techniques and never missed the chance to steal as many kisses as she could! Angela also loved going on cruises, Disney vacations and Atlantic City especially to watch the shows. Angela had a contagious laugh and personality that was bigger than life. She can make friends with anyone. She was the best wife, mom, mother in law and grandma anyone could ever ask for.

Angela was a communicant of St. Maximillian Kolbe Church in Toms River and a member of the Toms River Elks Club.

Surviving are Angela's beloved husband Salvatore: 3 loving sons: Vincent and his wife Lisa of Wayne, Salvatore V. and his wife Heather of Barnegat and Albert and his wife Alicia of Wayne; 5 cherished grandchildren: Alexis, Anthony, Brianna, Michael and Andrew; 2 brothers: Vinny and Albert as well as many numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
