Angelo "Chick" Diglio

Neptune - Angelo "Chick" Diglio, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 10, 2018, at his home in Neptune. He was 82 years old.

Chick, a lifelong resident of Neptune, was a graduate of Neptune Township High School. He was an accomplished athlete, winning the American Roller Skating Intermediate Men's One Mile title in 1952, member of the Scarlet Flyers high school football team and also an avid golfer.

Following graduation, Chick joined the United States Army and served honorably for two years as a member of the United States Army Honor Guard.

In 1965, Chick began his law enforcement career as a proud member of the Neptune Township Police Department, where he loyally and dutifully served for over thirty years. He retired as Captain of Detectives in 2000, leaving a job he loved and department he revered.

He was a devout communicant of Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Neptune, where he attended weekly mass for fifty years.

Chick was predeceased by his wife, love of his life and best friend, Joyce Tolly Diglio; parents, Geraldo and Adeline and brothers, Ralph and Larry.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Clark of Wall Township and her husband, Kevin; son, Kenneth Diglio, of Neptune; six grandchildren, Mary, Nicole Cameron, Matthew, Rachel and Erin; one great-grandchild, Addison; sister, Marie Jaeger; brother Jerry Diglio and his wife, Peggy; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Francioni Taylor & Lopez Funeral Home, 1200 10th Ave, Neptune, NJ 07753, on Monday, August 13, 2018, from 4:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. The funeral will begin on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 9:30 am., from the funeral home. A funeral mass will follow at 10:00 am., at Holy Innocents Church, Neptune, with interment in Mount Calvery Cemetery, Neptune, NJ 07753, thereafter.
