Ann F. Vicari

Brick - ANN F. VICARI, JANUARY 8, 1922 - April 2, 2018. On April 2, 2018, Ann F. (Parisi) Vicari, formerly of Jersey City and a resident of Brick, NJ for over 50 years passed peacefully surrounded by her devoted family at the age of 96. In addition to managing the finances of the family business, Vicari's Meat Market, Ann was the driving force in making sure her husband and all her children received not only college degrees but also advanced graduate degrees. While her children attended St. Peter's School in Jersey City, Ann was very active in the Women's Club organizing fundraising Card Parties, Bingo and Calendar Parties to help raise money for St. Peter's Church. Meal time at the Vicari home was always open to friends and family. Ann's motto was, "There is always room for one more at the table." and "What's another dish of spaghetti?". Ann was always sending her children to an elderly neighbor's home, a sick friend or a neighbor with a large family with a dish of food. In Ann's spare time, she would gather around the kitchen table with her mother and sisters and knit, sweater sets for new arrivals to the family, blankets, her famous TV socks and Christmas decorations. Ann also enjoyed time with her loving cousins Loretta, Margie and Della. Ann, the Matriarch of the family, remained in touch with her grandchildren and great grandchildren by using her IPAD to facetime.

Ann will join in heaven her beloved husband, Hugo G. Vicari; parents, Antonio Parisi and Antonia (Scalcione) Parisi; brother, Nicholas Parisi; and sisters, Parma Kowalski and Carmela Scudese and great granddaughters, Faith and Hope Vicari. Ann will continue her daily conversations with cousins Loretta, Margie and Del in heaven.

Ann is survived by her children, Joseph Vicari and wife, Joyce of Toms River, NJ; Phyllis Monteforte and husband, Tony of Bayonne, NJ; Annette Appleheimer and husband, Harry of Brick NJ; and Hugo F. Vicari of North Bergen, NJ. Ann was also the loving "grandma" of 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her devoted brother, Louis Parisi, and his wife, Gloria; sister-in-law, Martha Maneri and cousin, Mary Mastrolia.

Ann will be dearly remembered by family, friends, and neighbors on Friday, April 6, 2018 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River. Funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, April 7, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the ARC-Ocean County, 815 Cedar Bridge Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701-4932.
