AGE: 92 • West Long Branch

Anna (Fuga) Schulz, 92, died peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2016, at her West Long Branch home with family by her side. Ann was born in Hobart, New York on August 26, 1924 to the late Joseph and Maria (Peloso) Fuga. The family moved to Long Branch in 1927 where she graduated from Long Branch High School in 1941. She was happily married for 55 years to her husband, Bob, who passed away in 1998. Together they raised nine children in the home Bob designed and built with his own hands.

Ann was a founding and active member of St. Jerome R.C. Church, West Long Branch. She was a dedicated volunteer for Birthright for 25 years, a published author in a national magazine and other publications, and energized local political campaigns. Ann embraced a wide range of extraordinary life experiences. She was a contestant on two national TV game shows (Jeopardy! and Let's Play Post Office). She also loved dancing, swimming, solving puzzles, playing board games, walking to daily Mass, and planning and executing elaborate April Fool's Day pranks.

In addition to husband, Bob, Ann is predeceased by sister, Theresa McCue. She is survived by sister, Pietra (Bea) Stella, and children: Robert, Jr., Calgary, Canada; Riccardo, Pittsburgh, PA; Mary Ann (Adrian), Oakhurst; Cathy (Ray) Lefurge, Vernon, CT; Michael (Alexis) and Stephen, both West Long Branch; Jane (Jim) Wallace, San Francisco, CA; Susan (Ramon) Morris, Long Branch; David (Heidi), Farmingdale; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, December 9 from 3 pm to 7 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 10 at 11 am, St. Jerome R.C. Church, Wall Street, West Long Branch. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Wall Street, West Long Branch.
