Anna M. Moran

Leonardo - Anna Maria Moran, 78, passed away December 11th at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on a farm near Pomeroy, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland, she migrated with her parents and two brothers in 1957 to Pleasantville, N.Y. worked as a secretary at Reader's Digest for years and in Medical Records at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ for many years after that. Since married, she has lived in Hackensack, Ramsey, Waldwick and Leonardo, NJ.

Anna was a prolific writer whose poetry was read in an Off-Broadway play, "Adam's Rib" and in other poetry published in "Ireland's Own" and 20 years in a poetry book called "Jersey Shore Poets", also the name of the group of which she was a respected and beloved member. Two prose works; one set in Ireland and another on the biographical adventures of a doctor serving in an impoverished country are being edited for publication.

Married for over 51 years to Pat Moran, a retired teacher at Paramus Catholic and Red Bank Catholic High School, Anna has four children; Jennifer Moran, Patrick Moran Jr., Mary Henderson and Matthew Moran and ten grandchildren; Amber, Chase, Shane, Taylor, and Luke Moran; Kyle and Ryan Zalinski; and Aileen, Kelly and Colleen Henderson.

Anna leaves also her beloved brother, Tommy and many, many nieces and nephews and their spouses and children. She was an enthusiastic, charming, creative, enchanting lady and loved greatly as a wife, mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother and she will be sorely missed.

Respects can be made on Friday, Dec. 15th at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown, NJ from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 16th at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd. Middletown, NJ 07748.
