Anthony E. Villani Obituary
Anthony E. Villani

AGE: 93 • Toms River

Anthony Villani of Toms River passed away August 14, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.

Anthony was a loving and devoted husband, a dedicated father who provided his family with a great life, a doting grandfather, the best ever G-G-Pop, a loving and loyal son and brother, a terrific uncle, a great friend, and an overall honorable, decent outstanding human being. With a very youthful spirit, he was young at heart. He was faith filled and honest, genuine and sincere, an avid book reader who also loved word puzzles and time at the beach. He was a die-hard Giants and Yankees fan who also enjoyed visiting the race track. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking around with people. He loved his sweets, but was also a great cook and made the best Italian cheesecake and Easter Pie, meatballs, meatloaf and chicken cacciatore.

He loved sharing stories about growing up in the Marion section of Jersey City and playing craps and marbles, which was how he earned his nickname Inchy. And he enjoyed conversations about sports and politics. Also known as Slim, Anthony, who was always a sharp dresser, and his late wife enjoyed traveling and as of late, his most favorite place to be was on Cape Cod with his family. He was a WWII Veteran, a member of Laborers Union Local 472 and spent his years working at both L&R Heat Treating in Newark and Eastern Heat Treating in Long Island and in later years working at the Meadowlands in parking. He was a member of the Church of the Visitation RC Church where he also served as an Usher. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Eleanore (nee Monaco) and he leaves behind his daughters Margaret Nodine and her husband Robert, Andrea Apruzzese and her husband Anthony, a granddaughter Laura Apruzzese Vercelli and her husband Lars and his most precious great-grandson Luke Anthony Vercelli. He is also survived by his sister Gertrude Ciambrone and her husband John, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Catherine and Joseph Parella and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Angelina (nee Luciano) and Antonio Villani, brothers Rocco and Louis and sisters Marie Shimak and Joan. The family wishes to thank Chris Gazzola for her devoted friendship and Dr. Ariel Meyer, Dr. Asim Gilani, Dr. Joseph Gaurino, and Dr. Frank Sharp and the staff at Outpatient Infusion Unit at Ocean Medical Center for their dedication in providing the finest care for their beloved father and grandfather. In Lieu of Flowers, please make a donation to Joan Dancy and PALS (People with ALS) Foundation (Riverview Medical Center, 1 Riverview Plaza, PO Box 9157, Red Bank, NJ 07001) in loving memory of Eleanore and Anthony Villani.
