Arnold Chernin, 85, of Ocean Township, N.J., died April 27, 2017 at Monmouth Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born in Newark, Mr. Chernin eventually settled in Ocean Township. He graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark, N.J. After graduation, he joined the Navy prior to owning Mercury Electric and followed by owning Keystone Laundries. Mr. Chernin loved all sports and took up golf later in life, especially when he enjoyed time in Florida.

Mr. Chernin lived for his family and had a heart of gold. He was happiest in the presence of his wife, children, and grandchildren. His sole purpose in life was to make his family happy. He did everything from his heart and was very protective of his loved ones.

He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne Chernin, who was the love of his life. Their marriage was a true love story, filled with unconditional love. He is survived by his children: Lori and Jeff Rosenzweig, Larry and Carol Chernin, and Lesli and David Poznak, as well as six grandchildren: Kory, Demi, and Joey Poznak, and Rebecca, Sage, and Marc Chernin. He is also survived by his siblings, Bobby Chernin and Rita Rosen.

The funeral will be Sunday, April 30 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels at 11 am.
