Arthur "Art" N. Mallett

AGE: 74 • Port Monmouth

Arthur (Art) N. Mallett, age 74, of Port Monmouth died Monday, April 24, 2017 at home in Port Monmouth. Mr. Mallett was born in Long Branch, NJ and was a lifelong resident of the Port Monmouth area. He is the son of the late Newton and the late Helen Mallett.

He served his country honorably in the Navy from 1962 to 1966

He was a retired Aerospace Professional who worked for Bendix, Holmdel; National Metalizing, Cranbury, and finished his career with Dunmore Corporation, Bristol PA.

He was a Life Member of the Port Monmouth Fire Company with 50 years of service and he served as Secretary for over 40 Years. He was also Secretary of the MiddleteownTownship Fireman's Relief Association.

He was the Middletown Township Firefighter of the year 2007

He worked with Habitat for Humanity and belonged to the AIAA Aerospace Organization

He was an avid fisherman and boating enthusiast. He loved gardening, woodworking, and drawing but he especially loved time spent with his grandchildren.

He is pre-deceased by mother and father Helen and Newton Mallett and granddaughter Abigail Bashant

He is survived by his wife: Darlene Mallett; son Arthur N. (Laura) Mallett of Aberdeen, NJ; daughter Amy (Matthew) Bashant, Clinton, NY; grandchildren Rebecah, Elizabeth, and Andrew Bashant and Emily and Jack Mallett; and Cousins Paul Murphy of Leonardo and Albert Mallett of FL.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, April 29 at John P. Condon Funeral Home LLC, 804 St. Hwy. #36, Leonardo, NJ. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Middletown on Saturday, April 29 at 11:45 am.Calling hours will be Friday, April 28 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at John P. Condon Funeral Home LLC, 804 St. Hwy. #36, Leonardo, NJ.
