Barbara Thomas DeSantis Obituary
Barbara Thomas DeSantis

AGE: 87 • Long Branch

Barbara Thomas DeSantis of Long Branch NJ, passed away on Tuesday, August 1st at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Millburn, NJ, Barbara moved with her family to the shore as a young child. She graduated from Long Branch High School, married the late John DeSantis and together they had three children.

Barbara worked for NJ Bell, EAI, and Monmouth Medical Center where she retired after 30 years as Director of Communications in 1995. She enjoyed both her work and the many doctors, nurses and staff members she came to know.

The many things that made her happy were being with her family, watching her granddaughter grow up and graduate from Monmouth University. She loved baking, among her family's favorite was her warm Christmas bread. She also enjoyed gardening and reading a good book.

It will be with heavy hearts her children lay her to rest.

She is pre-deceased by her parents, William and Anne Thomas of Long Branch, sisters Betty Jane Acker of Fair Haven, Audrey T. Rush of Monmouth Beach and Jacqueline Giglio of West Long Branch as well as her late brother William Thomas Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL.

Barbara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Melody DeSantis of Toms River, daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Tony Mua of Long Branch, daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Roy Townsend of Oceanport. She leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Townsend.

Mass of the Christian Burial Thursday, August 3rd 10:30 am at St. Michael's Church, 800 Ocean Avenue, Long Branch, NJ. Burial will be private. To share a favorite memory or messages of condolence, please visit Barbara's Tribute Page at www.woolleyboglioli.com.
