Bernadette "Bunni" McMenaman

AGE: 83 • Spring Lake and Naples, Fla.

Bernadette "Bunni" Kiel McMenaman, 83 of Spring Lake and Naples, Florida passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune with her beloved family at her bedside.

Bunni was born in Newark and raised in North Arlington, and had lived in Point Pleasant Beach before moving to Spring Lake in 1969. She received her RN from St. Michael's Hospital, Newark and her BS-Nursing from Jersey City State College.

As a resident of Spring Lake she was a devout Catholic and Communicant of St. Catharine's Church.

She was predeceased by her parents Charles Howard and Agnes McKeown Kiel, her brother Charles Kiel and her grandson Zachary Keys.

Bunni is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 62 years John D. "Jack" McMenaman, her nine children; Maureen Keys of Mechanicsville, Va., Karen Golding of Brielle, Shawn Maynard of Spring Lake, Megan Gepp and husband William of Spring Lake, John McMenaman and wife Patricia of Wall, Maria McMenaman Young and husband Peter Young of Belmar, Bernadette Hogan and husband John of Spring Lake, Matthew McMenaman and wife Mary of New Hampshire and Thomas McMenaman and wife Tiffany of Manasquan, her 2 sisters Agnes Marie Fagen and Kathryn Anderson and husband Fred all of Brick, and her 46 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Catharine's Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake. Please go directly to the Church on Saturday morning as there will not be a procession from the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Catharine's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family specifically requests donations to The Seeing Eye, P.O. Box 375, Morristown, NJ 07960 ( Seeingeye.org ) Envelopes will be provided at O'Brien's on Friday at the visitation.
